 PAINTED EARTHENWARE (JAR)

A large-sized painted earthenware of Mohenjo Daro is in the collection of the National Mu museum, New Delhi. It is supposed to have been used for burying the dead. It is beautifully dece rated with black color on its red background Its polish is very shining till date. The type of base or varnish used by those artists is still a query.

मिट्टी से बना रंगीन पात्र.

मोहनजोदड़ो से प्राप्त एक बड़े आकार का रंगीन पात्र राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय, नई दिल्ली में संगृहीत है। इस प्रकार के पात्रों का प्रयोग शव को दफनाने के लिये किया जाता था। इस लाल रंग के पात्र को काली रेखाओं से अलंकृत किया गया है, जिस कारण पात्र आकर्षक दीराता है। आज भी यह चर्चा का विषय है कि उन कलाकारों ने पुत्र पर ऐसी कौन सी पॉलिश का प्रयोग किया है जिसकी चमक आज भी कायम है।
